The Chopping Block Cooking School is seeking an Events Manager for the Private Parties, Corporate Events and Catering division of our business. Do you have a "can do" attitude, an affinity for building teams, and an understanding of building relationships for success? Then read on!
You will manage a small group of event coordinators, and be ultimately responsible for profitably increasing the level of event sales in TCB's two locations. To enjoy yourself along the way, you should have a passion for customer service, the drive to increase sales, and a degree of flexibility. Getting your hands dirty from time to time – perhaps overseeing a cooking class – is all in a day's work. You will be required to hold employees accountable for both internal and external communication, and must have the ability to develop and implement systems for increased efficiency.
You will report directly to the Director of Operations, serve on the Leadership Team and contribute input to marketing, human resource and strategy considerations.

The Chopping Block is seeking professional chefs to teach our popular cooking classes. Must have 3-5 years restaurant experience. Culinary degree, teaching experience and a working knowledge of ethnic cuisines a plus.
Flexible part time schedule includes nights and weekends. Humility and sense of humor required.

As the largest recreational cooking school in Chicago, offering more than 250 classes per month, and supporting an expansive and unique line of professional cookware and gourmet retail items, we are looking for team members who bring a ‘can do' attitude to join our family.
